The mentoring program is designed to connect individuals with experienced professionals who can provide guidance, advice, and support to help mentees grow in their careers, build skills, and achieve their goals. However, all of our program offerings on our website are entirely voluntary.
Anyone with a passion for empowering young girls but note a background check is required to ensure the safety of our participants. Ideally, those who can commit their time to monthly mentorship and those with experience in various fields (education, business, arts, technology, etc.) that can lend their expertise.
Typically, girls and young women between the ages of 12-21, which can range from middle school to college-aged. Mentees may be students in middle school, high school, or college who are looking for academic, career, or personal development support. Those underaged will require parent/guardian consent to participate.
Mentoring can provide young people with positive role models, guidance, and support that can help them navigate their personal and academic challenges. It can also help to improve self-esteem, academic performance, and overall well-being.
As a mentor, you get to make a positive, last impact on a young girl’s life, develop your own leadership, communication, and coaching skills, and gain a sense of fulfillment from helping the next generation of women reach their potential.
As a mentee, this can range for those who need help with schoolwork, study habits, time management, and improving grades to mentees who are transitioning between preparing for college and need guidance on how to manage those changes or navigating a career change / exploring different career paths, seeking guidance on how to enter the workforce.
The duration can vary, but most mentoring relationships last 6 to 12 months. Some may extend beyond this depending on the goals and needs of the mentee.
To apply, please complete the mentee application form on our website or through the provided application link. You will be asked to share your goals, interests, and a summary of your background, experience, and areas of expertise. When your application is complete, we will review your application for suitability and then you will receive an email about scheduling your interview. Schedule the interview using the link provided in the email. Your interview will be via video chat our founder. After your interview, you will be asked to complete a brief personal statement and sign the program agreements and match forms. All of these steps are essential and what we use to determine who your mentor or mentee will be, so please answer openly and honestly so we can match you appropriately.
Yes, at this time our program is strictly virtual meetings to provide greater flexibility that work around work, personal commitments, or other engagements. Virtual mentoring allows both mentors and mentees to participate regardless of geographical location. With the ease of virtual platforms, it’s simpler to set up more frequent meetings. This can lead to stronger and more consistent mentorship relationships.
Absolutely! If you're eligible, you can participate in the program both as a mentor and as a mentee, depending on where you are in your career.
Meeting frequency is flexible and can be determined between you and your mentor. Generally speaking, you should expect to spend a total of 4 to 6 hours per month one-on-one with your mentor, but this can vary based on your goals and availability. Commitment and consistent communication are key to building this two-way relationship.
Mentees are matched with mentors based on shared goals, expertise, and personal interests. We aim to find the best possible fit to ensure a fruitful and supportive relationship.

Yes, if you feel that the mentorship relationship isn’t a good fit, please reach out to the program coordinator. We will work with you to identify a more suitable mentor.
If you're unsure about your goals, your mentor will work with you to identify areas for growth, whether it’s career development, skill building, networking, or personal development.
As a mentor, you should provide constructive feedback, listen actively, share your expertise and experiences, and encourage your mentee’s growth. You should be committed to regular communication and be open to answering questions.
We offer resources such as training materials, guides on effective mentoring, and ongoing support to ensure you are equipped to help your mentee succeed.
After each mentorship cycle, we will gather feedback through surveys or check-ins. We value your input to improve the program and ensure it meets both mentor and mentee needs.
If, for any reason, you feel that the mentoring relationship is no longer effective or appropriate, please discuss this with the program coordinator. We will help find an alternative solution.
After completing the program, we encourage continued contact between mentors and mentees if desired. Alumni of the program can stay involved through networking events, follow-up check-ins, and opportunities for future collaboration. At the end of the internship, it's essential to recognize the efforts of both mentors and interns. We offer certificates of completion to interns and mentors who participated, highlighting the skills and experiences they gained.
Thanks to our amazing community partners and volunteers, our mentoring programs are currently free. It’s designed to foster learning and development without any financial barriers, but we will be sure to notify our community in writing if that changes.
