GIL Scholarship Program

Eligibility Criteria

Award Amount: $500 (one-time) paid directly to the school over the course of two semesters.

Mentees must be a high school senior or college junior or sophomore.
Participated in Girls in Lead for a minimum of 2 years.
Must be a current mentee regularly meeting with their mentor.
Mentees must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate financial hardship.

Mentees must already be accepted into college of choice and provide proof of acceptance.
Mentees must indicate all colleges on the application to be considered for the scholarship.
Must utilize the scholarship beginning in the fall of TBD.
Mentees may apply one time up until the age of 25.

Selection Process

Scholarship applicants will be evaluated based on the following areas:

Academics: 10 points
Essay Questions: 80 points
Letter of Recommendation: 10 points

GIL will notify mentees that have been selected for a competitive scholarship via email. The email will provide specific instructions for mentees to officially accept or decline the scholarship. Mentors and Program Coordinators will also be notified via email.
